Jorge Chavez International Airport is located on the outskirts of Lima, about a 30-minute drive from the city center. However, depending on traffic, the journey can take up to 1 hour.

We flew from Costa Rica to Peru and booked a private transfer to take us directly from the airport to Miraflores.

Good to know: While Uber is available in Lima, it’s not recommended for use at the airport.

The most affordable option to get from Lima Airport to Miraflores is the Airport Express Lima bus, costing 15 Soles (4 USD) per person. Another option is the Quick Llama airport transfer for 20 Soles (5.5 USD) per person.

Taxi or Private Transfer
Taking a taxi is usually the most expensive option, so we recommend using a registered taxi service like Taxi Green for safety. Locals also prefer using the Beat app, which works similarly to Uber.

For added comfort, especially for couples or groups, private transfers start from around 17 USD and offer a convenient alternative.

It’s best to avoid walking at night and taking taxis alone, particularly in downtown Lima. We recommend booking a private transfer from the airport to Miraflores for peace of mind.

During the day, temperatures range from 18-25°C, making it comfortable for sightseeing.

However, if you want to experience the warmest and sunniest weather, the best time to visit Lima is from December to April. From May to November, the city experiences cooler temperatures and overcast skies.
